JOB TITLE:        Research Coordinator

REPORTS TO:   Deputy Chief Learning Officer: Research and Innovation 

GRADE:              8

SALARY:            $59,200 - $69,550

SUMMARY: The Research Coordinator will function as part of the Research and Innovation team to develop, update, and maintain educational work products, including but not limited to, research papers, infographics and webinars that support the public procurement profession.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
▪Conducts independent research on state inquiries, emerging issues, and policy priorities.
▪Supports the development of surveys, publications, online resources, and data collectionand analysis.
▪Participates in the development of NASPO educational and research resources, including,but not limited to, white papers, blog articles, guides, toolkits, and webinars.
▪Coordinates and supports the implementation of NASPO programs and initiatives.
▪Provides assistance in the development and delivery of NASPO educational conferencesessions.
▪Responsible for special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
▪Communicates regularly with supervisors and other staff to ensure information flow andadherence to goals, policy, budgets, and timelines.
▪Attends/participates in NASPO conferences and provides on-site customer support toNASPO members.
▪Presents and explains NASPO resources and work products to NASPO members andstrategic partners, virtually and in person.
▪Supports onboarding and orientation of team members as needed.

Approximate travel time: 10% (4-5 trips per year)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, education, research, law,government, or communications or related field required. Master’s degree preferredbut not required.
•1-2 years of professional experience in a related field required.
•Experience conducting research related to government policies, processes legislation or related areas preferred.
•Prior association experience preferred.
•Strong customer service skills.
•Knowledge of social science research methodologies and best practices.
•Highly organized and detail oriented.
•Strong communication skills (written and oral).
•Strong time management skills; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
•Strong team player – commitment to NASPO values of leadership, excellence, and integrity.
