SALARY:           $74,250 - $87,250

SUMMARY:
The Procurement Research Manager is a member of the NASPO Professional Development team. This position is responsible for providing procurement expertise in the development of research and educational resources. This includes collaborating with staff researchers, instructional designers, and other members of the Professional Development Team to create content for courses, training, and research products that advance the public procurement profession.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Oversees and directly contributes to all stages of publications and content development, specializing inpublic procurement expertise.
• Develops, writes, and contributes to NASPO publications and resources, including blog articles, toolkits,and other work products.
• Conducts research, including focus groups, surveys, and literature reviews, to ensure content is accurateand consistent with industry best practices.
• Responds to internal and external requests for information and expertise.
• Maintains knowledge of issues impacting the NASPO membership and procurement profession.
• Provides pre-conference support in the development of relevant and engaging programming.
• Attends and supports the delivery of NASPO Conferences and Events.
• Conducts in-person and virtual presentations at NASPO and strategic partner conferences.
• Represents NASPO on strategic partner work groups and committees; contributes expertise and assistsin the development of written publications. Provides excellent customer service to association members.
• Applies project management best practices to ensure successful and timely completion of projectdeliverables.
• Communicates and collaborates regularly with supervisors and other staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Approximate Travel Time: 6-8 trips per year

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three or more years of experience in public procurement. State procurement experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated strong professional writing skills.
• Demonstrated strong professional verbal and presentation skills.
• Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), or related public procurement or contract management certification preferred.
• Project management skills; highly organized and detail oriented.
• An ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and passionate about public procurement.
• Knowledge of national procurement and/or supply chain management best practices.
